Privacy starts small, too.
This notice describes how the academy works today. A full, legally reviewed policy with the operator’s contact details and retention periods will be published before a wider launch.
Who can sign up
Only a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older can create a family account, with Google or email. Children never get their own login. The parent gives consent on the family dashboard before adding any learner.
What we store about learners
For each learner profile: a made-up nickname, the chosen track (Junior or Teen), completed missions and XP. We do not ask for a child’s real name, age, birthday, school, photo, voice or location.
What we store about the parent
The parent account’s email and sign-in details, the date and version of the consent given, and anonymous AI usage counts (how many messages or pictures, for which lesson, estimated cost) used to enforce daily limits and spending caps.
Uppy AI chats and pictures
Messages to Uppy and the pictures it makes are sent to Lovable AI, which uses OpenAI models, to be processed. The academy does not save chats or pictures. Pictures stay on screen and in this visit’s Passport until you sign out; use Download to keep one on your own device. Prompts are checked by safety filters, and the picture service applies its own moderation. Adults can report anything that seems wrong.
Read-aloud
Uppy reads only pre-written lesson lines. No microphone is used and nothing is recorded.
Deleting data
On the family dashboard a parent can delete a learner, withdraw consent (deletes every learner profile and switches off Uppy AI), or delete the whole family account. These actions need a recent sign-in as a parent check. Usage counts are detached from deleted learners so they can no longer be linked to them.
Adult waitlist
We store the adult email address, parent/educator selection, track preference, confirmation of being 18 or older and the submission time. Entries are not public.
Not offered
There are no payments, public galleries, public profiles, messaging between users or comments.
